Katie Holmes appears to be headed for an extended stay in New York City. She has apparently been in negotiations to take on a role in the Broadway play All My Sons. The Arthur Miller post World War II drama is a heartbreaking saga of the Keller family.
Katie will reportedly play the role of a neighbor who visits the Keller family. Their son is a missing pilot that she once loved. John Lithgow (Third Rock from the Sun) and Academy Award winning actress Dianne Wiest have already signed on for the Broadway run that will put them all on stage six nights a week.
Daily Mail reports that All My Sons will be directed by Simon McBurney. He has planned a private workshop of the play in May. Producer will be Eric Falkenstein.
Rumors have been circulating recently that Tom Cruise was going to buy a big apartment in New York’s famous Dakota apartment building, home to Yoko Ono and Lauren Bacall. Now that tidbit seems to be making some sense. With daughter Suri turning 2, Holmes is no doubt anxious to get out and dust off her acting chops and establish herself as an actress once again.

I'm hoping this will be good for her...she started out with theatre, but its not always as easy as it looks to go back. Julia Roberts had very mixed reviews when she was in Three Days of Rain with Paul Rudd and Bradley Cooper a couple years ago. I personally saw Jennifer Garner in Cyrano and thought she was fantastic playing alongside Kevin Kline. I guess it truly will be a toss up! Good luck to her, though
